    This is a very interesting technique that was utilized by several Bohemian glass companies, I call it cased glass confetti. Basically confetti glass is just glass chips. So when we see any confetti application we can look for cane, rod, chips or in this case.... cased glass. Either it came in sheets of layered colors (like zebra canes) or in broken bits of already formed glass like (I believe) you see here. So if a glass piece was re-purposed or sheets of cased glass was ground down and used as confetti.... it’s anybodies guess

    The shape is 7 1/2" from Franz Welz shapes made with "the Gadget"- a way to hold the glass from its base and detail the rim. This production would leave no pontil or ground rim.
