    Salutations CW!

Rare Earth...A Detroit, Michigan band...Forming in 1968 in sort of a unique twist.....
They were a band known as the 'Sunliners' from '60-'68, When Barry Gordy, Founder of Motown Records, began a sublable and called it, 'Rare Earth'.
He began this label to sign 'White Acts' (Well known was Motown for black only acts) And He signed the 'Sunliners' and changed their name to the name of the label...'Rare Earth'
It was a short stint with Motown....only to '71..But within their three year tenure they produced two top 20 dittys, 'Get Ready' And 'I Just Want To Celebrate'
Though they left their Motown relationship and changed labels, They kept their name and are active today.

This disc, Spinning at 45 rpms, is a Rare 1970 release....of 'Rare Earth'.

    Thank You,
    Thomas.

This is a very sad song, but played up-beat, kind of odd. Thanks Thomas! Here's "Backstreet" by Rare Earth :

Welcome back Mr. Thomas, I was born in Detroit and grew up less then 5 miles from there, everyone knew this band in that area, With "Get Ready" that has a bit of the Motown sound to hey "Big Brother" they are or were still hitting clubs and festivals until about 2007 at least, Sadly without Peter Rivera? so not quite the same.
Thanks for the flash back ;p
