    Got this baby at an estate sale last weekend for $31. It's a beautiful trunk! Possibly Chinese or Japanese? Looks pretty old. Anyone run across anything like this? It is roughly 32x15x15

      These are a popular souvenir from region. I'd be surprised if it is antique.

      Some additional photos of the interior/ back and lock would be helpful.

      Thanks for your response! I uploaded a pic of the side carving as well as the dirty inside (was clearly in storage or garage for a while). The lock and hinges for the lid are missing, but in the front you can see the metal. There are screws so it can't be that ancient, but it does have it's fair share of scuffs. Yes, I am happy with it either way! I'm just curious.
