Yes the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y5 has a matte black roof. The 1907 Peugeot was first released in 1969. Based on the box this one is either from 1969-1970. I think the box style changes in 1971. Sorry I am a bit fuzzy on that one. I'll bet it is 1969 myself as the box color changes soon after to purple and yellow.
Aside from the matte black roof another exciting feature is the tinted windows. OK so it is just a strip of plastic but it looks nice plus none of the models had something like that. Gives this the look of a limousine although town car would be the proper term.
All the exciting notes about the actual vehicle are on the box back seen in photo 2.
For next Matchbox Monday I have a model with a Superfast transitional box. I know everyone is on the edge of their seats.
