Hello everyone!!
This is a cast iron dachshund still bank. This one is a reproduction, but a fairly decent reproduction. I've seen some reproductions that look very primitive and very poorly done. The originals were manufactured in the early 1900's. I'm not sure if the originals were made by Arcade, Hubley or who. He has a slot in the top of his head where you would deposit your coins. I have an original doorstop version of this still bank. He's packed away in one of my trunks somewhere. When I do find him, I'll post it.
This fellow is exactly the size of the original casting, 9 1/2" long and 6 1/4" tall. Oh, and I found this one for $10.00.

Scotty I'm craving a trunk restoration Project from you soon :)
Unfortunately Roy, I haven't touched a trunk for over a year now. I ran into some health issues earlier last year and dealt with that for a good part of last year. Then my in-laws took a turn for the worse. And then I lost my father in-law in December. Perhaps I'll get back back into the swing of trunk restoration again soon.
