This is an oddly shaped glass vase I picked up today. It has a crimped top very similar to a vase I posted some time ago (see photo #4). Although both vases are yellow, there is a slight difference in colour. Also, the footed vase has regular stripes, while the oddly shaped vase doesn't. Both vases might be blown, but I am not too sure. They also appear to have the same reheated pontil mark.

There used to be a paper label attached to to top of the vase. one can still see the glue (picture #3)

    Thanks for looking:)

It would be mould blown Freiheit, and possibly not by the same maker.
My general feeling is this is probably European, perhaps Italian?

Racer4four, thanks so much for your comment. I have a feeling, too, that the vase might be Italian. I checked several sites but so far came up empty. I did, however, find this very interesting site about glass making:

I am glad you like the link, racer4four. I never knew that there were so many different techniques.

I would almost expect these to go viral or at least glow in the dark. I wonder what they look like under a black light ?
    7. freiheit freiheit, 6 years ago
PhilDMorris, Thanks for your comment. It didn't cross my mind to check the vases under black light. I will will do so soon, though. I checked some of my other vases, and the results were not what I expected. Some vases I would have never thought that they were uranium glass glowed, while others (that I really thought they were uranium glass) didn't. This is to show that I have a lot to learn - LOL
Just to give an example: These ones did
