As requested from some CW friends, I photographed more illustrations from my antique French books, Vie Privée et Publique des Animaux. This particular edition is from 1868, and I took more photographs of the illustrations in the 1844 edition, which I shall show separately in another post. Enjoy!

Thanks so much, Scott. I knew you'd love the third pic; I chose it with you in mind. I will look for more rabbit illustrations for you, if you'd like.

Beautiful, love all the pictures, knew which one Scott would enjoy. BTW Laura, didn't think we'd see each other on this site today, with the wind howling & worst snowfall of the year, everyone is losing power in NY with this storm - be safe & God bless J.

Jenni! You must be getting it worse then? We have about three to four inches, and it's just flurrying now. School openings were delayed by two hours, and then they were closed before the first buses went out. I imagine the back roads were too treacherous for the buses.

So glad you like the illustrations.

You be safe and take care. I hope you have power. Our boiler went on the fritz yesterday, and today the heating repairman is here with a $2000+ brand new part.

Let me add a sad face for the $2000 part.

      :(

Oh Laura!! So sorry to hear about your boiler repair. I replaced our heat pump system last year. But, since I bought one of the products our company makes and I installed it myself, it cost me less than $2000 for everything.

Thanx Laura, yes I didn't realize this noreaster Skylar may just be impacting LI then heading out to sea (because the far tip of the island has it even worse, over 1 ft & will snow til p.m.) Forced my hubby to stay home from work today, car accidents galore on the hwys - is it ever gonna end?!!!! Glad you got a new boiler, that's important now

Thanks so much, Scott. It's actually the power venter. I don't understand much about the thing but my husband does and the guy fixing it hopefully does. I say "hopefully" because he's been here for four hours. No heat, of course, either. I shouldn't complain because he's freezing in the garage, I am sure.

Jenni, one foot on the tip of LI so far? I had no idea. So glad your hubby is home and safe. Mine traversed the snowy/icy roads but he has a Jeep so I am okay. I am wondering, too, if this winter will ever end. I am getting really, really tired of this. :(

Very glad to hear you have a jeep, it's so important in harsh winters. He drives what looks like a mini jeep but is just a glorified hatchback, no 4WD, so natch I get nervous, didn't mean to say forced more like I pleaded with him lol. We are safe at home & took snowbound naps like your bears - ever see movie The Bear by a French director, beautiful story

Hopefully, it won't take the boiler too long to heat up once the repair is made.

I love The Bear, Jenni! And I love naps! Yes, we are a two Jeep family and were a three Jeep family when our son was a baby and had a Jeep stroller! ;) I hope you guys are safe and with power. It's finally stopped snowing here as of around 5ish, but I think it's going to be a cold night!

Scott, the guy was here for just about eight hours when he finally finished up! We have three zones and I had to put the thermostats on 75 F in all three zones while he waited for an hour to make sure everything was working properly. The house warmed up quickly, which leads me to believe the power venter has an impact on the unit's efficiency? Maybe?
