I'm new to collecting and bought this beautiful candy dish today. It measures 9.25 x 5.75 at online auction. Does anyone know anything about its original?

I have one very similar to this which my sister gave me. I think she was living in Berlin at that time (1980's), and I think she probably brought it new. I will try and skype her later to see if she remembers where she got it.

I had a similar one, too. Mine was a gift from a student, dating to the 1990's. I don't remember but it could have been German or Japanese:)

I forgot: mine had different leg, though.

I asked my sister where she had got it and she couldn’t remember! She often went over to East Berlin and bought glass there though. Looking at mine, it is pressed glass or crystal ( you can see the joins) but there is a little cut glass decoration on it too.
