1930's dark brown bakelite dress clips, 2"x5/8" with silver metal insets. One of them (pic 3) has pitted....I guess I would too after 80 years :-) I posted these other dark brown items before: wonderful 1" wide carved bangle and a 2-5/8" pin. In fact....the bracelet might have been my first post! I would like to replace those narrow strips in the clips and bangle, and my brother is a machinist - he could do it.... I think since I don't plan plastic surgery or a major hand remodel.....I'll let these items age. :-)

Lovely pieces, the dark brown w/ silver is a great combo Val (or do you prefer Mary, I'm Jenni, but respect whatever you like to be called), great post

Hahaha Oh boy do I know what you mean and all I could do is laugh! When I was young/younger (haha) I was told that looks fade. I wish they would have just been more blunt by saying how it really feels. I'm cracking up and must leave this alone for now. You can only imagine what I'm thinking! Ahhhh tears in my eyes!!! haha

Great post, thanks for the laugh, I needed that!!!

Hi Eileen - thanks! I love bakelite with metal accents. I have a few really good pieces this green/metal bangle is case in point from my very first post 6 yrs ago: I am still after a bright orange brooch :-)

Hi Jenni - Mary is fine, Val is too. Thanks for your nice comment :-)

Hi Rose - thank you for your nice comment :-)

Hi Share - so true and too funny! My hands look okay from a little farther away, this camera sure loves to accentuate every wrinkle :-)

Thank you Mary & plsd to meet you, your bakelite collection really is beautiful, it's so pricey now online, no doubt due in part to the fabulous workmanship - lucky to have a brother to help w/ repairs (my hubby the technician is hopeless lol)

Your hands look absolutely was mine I was referring to! Great items by the way!

Jenni - bakelite online is expensive. It's best to find it in person - junking, garage sales, antique malls - there is a lot out there still. The really great carved pieces are hard to find though. I keep hoping to find one :-)

Share.....I am going to figure out a photo editing tool to soften my wrinkles, but keep the bracelets nice and sharp :-)

The strips in the bracelet remind me of tire tracks.

True Phil - tire tracks. It looks like a tire doesn't it?
