Malkey, here is Midori in her goth clothes. These were custom made right down to the boots. Last photo is of Lilith. Hope you like her, Roy. She was created by the company Not Doll. I also have red eyes that she sometimes wears.

Thank you for the love, Adele, Roy and Malkey. So glad you enjoyed this post, Malkey. The dolls are such fun to pose, and really, one is only limited by one's imagination.

I saw Dracula (with Frank Langella) when I was 12 years-old, and it scared me like nothing else. My friend, who was with me, wore garlic around her neck the entire evening after we saw the movie. I still find the 1930s Dracula with Bela Lugosi the scariest, though, and the book is a horror masterpiece. Around 1990, I found an 1897 original Dracula at a library sale in Dover, Delaware for 25 cents. There's something about reading the original, old, musty volume. It's somehow scarier than a reissued paperback.

PS Malkey, I love the imagery of you cutting up a deck of cards into crosses and using luminous snow spray to keep vampires at bay.

I love these best of all, they both look very mod & swinging sixties! The Lilith doll could be in the image of that great Lilith novel which later became a film

      Tres goth. Or perhaps emo.
    8. Caperkid, 6 years ago
These are very cool.I love both the Goth and Emo style. When I was 7 or eight I read Halloween (Michael Myers) under the bed covers scared the stuffing out of me. I love the rush of a good frightening. Boo haa :)

I just about bought a Lilith doll. They are so evil looking. Is the doll named after Lilith the demon from Jewish mythology?
    10. betweenthelens betweenthelens, 6 years ago
Thank you so much, Jenni. I've not read the book nor seen the film and now I really want to do so!

Ha, fortapache. Yes, you are right. I wanted her to have an alter ego of sorts as she came to me with long dark hair and in a demure pink and white outfit.

Roy, go to the website Den of Angels. There is probably a NotDoll for sale on there. I did name her Lilith after the Lilith in Jewish mythology.

You're welcome Laura. You would enjoy the Lilith novel, I believe author was Salamanca, you can find book online on that famous book site starting with "a". I know Lilith was originally a demon, in the novel she is emotionally & mentally disturbed, and very manipulative - it is a dark but excellent read, and the movie was very faithful to it, she was played by beautiful blonde Jean Seberg (who had her own demons & died by suicide, very sad)

I'm Dover High School Class of 1971. I used to find some interesting things when I lived there.

Thanks again, Jenni. I would love to read the book and see the movie. Hi Efesgirl. I am from Miami, FL originally but have enjoyed living here for almost 12 years. Yes, this area is a treasure trove of shops and interesting finds.

Thanks so much for the love, Eileen, Michael, Phil, vetraio50, MooreAntique, and Karen. Much appreciated.

got to answer you properly laura just rushing from the pain & musty books yes indeed better for the atmosphere of the mind but i have to admit only read one novel in me life john wyndam the chrysalids about 8 or 9 years old ish and was captivated by the cover of a leopard i tink how sad but true lots love malkey
    16. betweenthelens betweenthelens, 6 years ago
Thank you for the love, buckethead.

Malkey, you'd said you have been in pain, and I am sorry to read this. I hope you feel better soon. Look at the original cover of The Chrysalids: It's a footprint. I wonder if that would've piqued your interest?! It's funny how we're drawn to book covers. I wonder if all books were covered in a generic plain wrapper, how would this affect readers? Feel better. xoxoxox
