    Any idea what this is? Likely from the 50's or 60's. His mother was a seamstress. Its also been suggested it might have been camera related. Thanks!!

      Is the red part wax, wood or some kind of plastic ? Neil

      Yes I feel like it's remnants of possibly horse hair and yes it does flip and fit into the reverse end. The red part is plastic. At first I thought was maybe Bakelite but it didn't pass the smell test. Thank you both!!
