Can anyone tell me what this box was used for. It has a lid top and bottom. The middle part has a folding handle and holes in the bottom. There are clips inside for holding something. Stamped to top lid is " W. H. Bailey & Son, London. Reg. design applied for." 4 1/4 x 2 1/8 inches x 1 3/8 inches deep.

      W. H. Bailey & Son, London furnished hospitals with equipment. This looks like a syringe box.

Keep in mind we are talking well over 100 years ago. I believe the metal syringe and attachment snapped into this and was then submersed to sterilize it. The bottom holes allowed draining from what I have read online.
