Hello everybody!!
Here are a set of bronze boxing hares from my collection. They were cast at the Elizabeth & Stevens foundry in England and are signed with their E&S foundry crown stamp. These hares are solid bronze castings, wonderfully detailed and are lifesize. They stand 25" and 22" tall and they weigh about 25lbs each. There were only a limited number of these bronze hares cast at E&S foundry, though I'm not sure how many sets were made.

This is such an eccentric English concept, boxing hares, but so well made they seem right.

Such a fun hare sculpture, didn't know they could box like kangaroos but it sure looks like fun! I wish you a wonderful birthday, you will have a good weekend with Easter & all the rabbits around

Ken, Thanks very much!! The first boxing hares I've seen in my area:) In the southwestern USA they refer to these as Jack Rabbits, which we don't have in Kentucky.
