Got a pair of Custom VW Bugs here. The official name is Custom Volkswagen. The one on the left is a US made one while the other was made in Hong Kong.
The most notable difference is the engine. The US made one is all metal with an engine block that connects to the base. The Hong Kong version has a plastic engine that clips on to the body. It is only the top of the engine and there is no block.
The bases are also different as the US base is smooth with no details. The Hong Kong base is much more detailed.
Time for a road trip. I will be back in a few days.

Love these bugs fort! Particularly the teal color, yet have to agree the red one from Hong Kong is more detailed. Back in the day my dad drove one, for economy reasons not counterculture lol. Have a nice trip
