1941 hamilton G.C.T. 10K gold filled pocket watch, 22 jewels, model 4992B, serial 4C765 (prod nos start at 01). 40,000 were made of this run quantity. inside the movement on the back is stamped u.s. Navy BU Aero. those letters are a further designation I think for the US Navy/Marines so the watch possibly would be issued to a naval/marine pilot. Most are marked with "u.s. govt" and the ones that are available these days are all stainless steel the gold ones are very hard to find. I believe most of these watches were sent home and the officers that were given these opted for the wrist watch instead.
