Necklace I bought online from Czech republic (from the same seller as the egyptian revival enamel bracelet I posted today).
The "lapis" stones are plastic, not tested yet as I dont have my Simichrome with me right now, but I dont think this is bakelite. Tried the smell test, and it does not have that wonderful bakelite smell. Smells like - wet toilet paper.

The necklace bothers me - it is very much in deco style, nice design, rivets and clasp, but I would like to see some tear and wear, and this is in superb condition. The metal looks modern. The necklace just lacks that feeling it should have. But I am not an expert, and I am not sure. Is this a modern "in deco style" chinese stuff possibly?
The seller was genuine Czech person, she asked a few EURs for it only, as usual (they never ask much for a costume jewelry piece), so I lost no big money.Yet it would be nice to have a true deco, not a "deco".

What do you think about the condition?

      Nice find!
The screws and rivets make me think it is genuine Art Deco! Chinese piece would have been only glued... if a forgery, price should have been higher ;-)
For the immaculate condition, either it hasn't been worn or come from new old stock!
      Plastic or galalith.

You know this is outside my knowledge but it looks really well made to me. All those rivets & screws.

Well first of all I have to say, I hope that the wet toilet paper wasn't used! ( :) ) and next is did you mean to say you would like to have true deco, not "decoy"??? just checking! :)

It looks great from here. BUT what I was thinking in an offhand way, that sure looks like a pocket watch fob, don't you think? It could be, don't know. I say always follow your gut, it's your god given built in alarm system. It won't lie to you!

Im seriously thinking it's something from the 70's. The flathead screws are old but I don't think art deco old and I have some of those half moon silver pieces, that aren't really silver. Stick a magnet to it. It's still pretty.
