This is a lovely vintage necklace. I almost didn't buy it because I thought is was costume jewelry. When I took a second look with my magnifying glass, I realized it was the real thing.
There is a very fine line visible if you look very very carefully. I will try to give it kyratango's "treatment" when I get some some time.

Nice find! I like the big milk opal, surrounded by the smalls.
Is it marked Freiheit? It has an Italian look to me.
Superb! A droplet of thin oil on back, another on top and see what will happen :-)
If it is a vein in the opal, the line won't disappear, but if it is a crack, it should vanish.

I will post a photo with the results (When I get a chance to take care of my necklace after clearing my driveway after this nasty ice storm we had this weekend. Well, I won't do the work, but my husband surely needs some moral support and encouragement while he is doing it - LOL)
