This is for all those fancy folks out there who love pink! You know who you are, so be pink & proud! Put on your rose - coloured glasses & feast your eyes on a plethora of peachy, paradisical, pulchritudinous pinkness to tickle you pink & keep you feeling in the pink...
All of these blushing beauties are from my collection, & show the many wonderful ways that glassmakers used pink...they all spun their own florid, fragile fantasies, from Loetz to Welz, John Walsh - Walsh to Barovier & Toso, & beyond.
May they bring a touch of sweetness to your day!

PS: I'll bring along some musk sticks, pink champagne, & strawberry ice - cream to the party...& I'll turn up in a pink Cadillac with a pink carnation in my lapel! :-)

      Ironlace....this is another masterpiece!
Can you tell me who made the vase in the first photo, front row and to the far left.
It is has vertical stripes, the pink one.
I purchased an oil lamp that was made much like that little vase and it seems to be lost in the mail at the moment or I would post it.
You always have the most beautiful glass displays and such clever words to describe them.

Thank you most kindly, Gary, that is very nice of you to say so...I do have so much fun putting together my photos...& the words just flow because glass is an endless source of inspiration.
With regard to the vase, I am sorry to say that I do not know the exact maker. But I can tell you that the type of glass is known as "Cut Velvet", & is from the later Victorian era, 1880s - 1890s. The difference between this & other satin glass of the same period is that Cut Velvet has raised patterns, usually ribs like on this vase, as well as diamonds. This one was a great little find in an op shop (thrift store) & it suddenly kicked off a great enthusiasm for Cut Velvet glass for me. I was lucky to get quite a few more pieces soon afterwards, including another small J.I.P vase like this but in blue. I believe that like so many types of Victorian fancy glass, Cut Velvet was made by numerous makers around the world, eg, Bohemia, England, USA.
Your oil lamp sounds wonderful (I've not seen a Cut Velvet one) & I hope that arrives safely to you soon...looking forward to your post of it. The mail is still rather delayed at the time being, I too am waiting on a small parcel from the USA which, according to the tracking, seems to have taken almost a month just to move through the USPS system before it managed to find an international flight. It remains in transit, somewhere...
