~ Hi CW GANG ~
Bought this years ago as it was just different. Not sure what to call it ~ Weaved ~ or what. Very well done, and it took someone a long time to do. At least IF I did it - it would take a long, long time. Quite large - as the last pic you can see the size with a plastic ruler by it. It appears to have been professionally framed and might have been on display for something. It has a blue ink stamp on the back that says: THE MAPLE LEAF GALLERY - WINNIPEG, MANITOBA....................or Maybe they just did the framing of this picture ( ?) What exactly would you call this as it is not like a hooked rug technique ? Or just call it embroidery ??

Looks like long stitch, so likely made by a very clever craft person. I think the name is the framers.

It is quite a large pic, like about 2 feet long - OH, and I should have added a pic of the back of the picture as it must have been on display at some Manitoba Art Gallery. I will look again later for the name of the place. Karen - so it is a Long stitch, eh? The name of that stitich is called "Framers" ? Never heard of it .......interesting...
Looks like Crewel work Rose :-) I used to be able to do it . It is like a embroidery stitch .
