The Seahorse which she sells from the seashell shop in Morro Bay that is. Actually the owner is a he but the clerk was a she. Too bad as the owner will take a few bucks off. Just make it an even whatever. Morro Bay Shell Shop that is.
Anyway seahorses are fish even though they seem to have an exoskeleton it is actually an endoskeleton with the skin stretched tightly over it. They have un-fishlike characteristics like a prehensile tail but they are indeed fish.
Seahorses like this used to be just a couple bucks but the price has gone up a bit. Rules and regulations I suppose. Live ones much more expensive about $60.

I love seahorses too!! There is a "Seahorse World" not far from where I live! I have been there and it was great to see all of them. ........could sit and watch them for ages, it was so quiet and peaceful:-)
That is a GREAT seahorse fortapache!! Several years ago, we were on vacation and walking on the beach early one morning and one had washed ashore. We managed to get him back in the water, but I'm not sure he made it.

I absolutely love the Shell Shop in Morro Bay ! That is where I obtained my Mako Shark jaws. I stop by every time we're in Morro Bay.
The aquarium next door is sadly going out of business and they have a Great White Jaw that they were going to be auctioning off. I was really hoping they'd call me with a price !
