    Hi CW Gang:

Thought you might like to see this. This is an old animated Firplace insert. The metal at the bottom is wrought iron and heavy. The wood fireplace part is actually pretty lightweight, but the wrought iron weighs a ton. Also this is a older insert fireplace as it has that little pole in the back that has like silver tinsel on it to make the sparkles in the fire by just reflecting on the silver tinsel. It also kinda makes a crackling noise of a fire too. The newer version do not have that old tinsel piece in them, and the bottom metal is not not real wrought iron. Pretty Damn Realistic for a vintage item. Probably around 1960's era.

Thanks for LOOKING // LOVING !!

Cozy! Makes me think of the Brady Bunch/kitschy 60s-70s decor.

They made these for plaster fireplaces and stereo fireplaces also in the later 50's. I had one dated with exact match to yours. A lot of them had moving pieces under the wood so it appeared the flame changed.

....@MALKEY - Lol, thank you for the wonderful cheerful comment. Hope your soul is now warmed !!
....@racer4four - Thanks karen, and it does make you feel warm. It is SO realistic looking in real life. They made stuff so much better back then !!
....@betweenthelens - LOL. Marcia, Marcia, Marcia YOU are so correct in your line of thinking on this piece !!
....@PhilDMorris - Thanks Phil. You are totally correct. That is why there was that crinkled little bar with silver tinsel on it. The red light bulb would create shadows and stuff to make the flames look like they were moving ....also on this one ...the crinkled foil kinda made some crinkling noise like a fire. Very realistic !! Yes this has the moving flame on it and very real looking !!!
