I bought a mess kit a ways back but it had no cup. A 1960s mess kit has a plastic cup and a 1950s version has a metal cup thus a 1950s version here. When I saw it I just gave it a shake and I knew the cup was there. Now for the step by step.
#1 kit in carrying case.
#2 it unfolds to be frying pan and case. Please be sure to temp all food items or get shut down by the health dept. I am a hot dogs on hangers and steak guy myself for campfire cooking. Also spam and beans. Frying a fish not so much.
#3 reveals all a pot. Perfect for beanie weenies, soup and so on.
#4 reveals the cup inside the pot.
Would be fun to take this out camping and whip up a batch of beanie weenies.
These are great fort, besides the camping fun there are early survivalist lessons

I have no idea what beanie weenies are so I cannot be sure they are delicious.
I am sure however that this set would make the right noise in a backpack.

Thank you very much racer4four. It is hot dogs chopped up in baked beans. Brown sugar is the special ingredient. I will whip up a batch using 100 year old graniteware some time.

I had the same kit in the 60's and it came with the metal cup. They took orders for them at meetings or you could order them through boys life magazine.
