I think that this is a Rabbi - from his hat which looks Hasidic or orthodox Jewish. And here he is with the middle-aged white woman, and older hunchback African American man. I found all of these in Berkeley, CA yesterday. Would love to know more about them! Thanks!

With the flat base and various size of the pieces, could they possibly be part of a chess game set?
i don't see any evidence of that pw-collector. these are pretty large for that.

i know that, but i don't see any evidence that these are chess pieces. i've seen human-sized chess pieces before too!
if there were more than one of the same, or obviously a royal figure, or even a knight or a horse, then i would agree with you. i don't mean to be disagreeable, just trying to figure it out.
