    These are slender but relatively tall vases sitting on a large foot of leaves. Nine leaves in all, four up and five down. The simple conical one seems to have been more popular than this shape as it turns up more often.

      I love the leaves on these Welz vases. At first glance they look identical but they're all unique.

      Perhaps waxing poetic is catching, Karen :) The heavy leaves may have had a practical purpose too, they would certainly have improved stability.
