I had found a few plates but only 6 are in decent condition. Still the remaining 6 show utensils wear and have a lot of rim color imperfections. The rest of the plates (4) have chips on the bottomwith with one having a crack line that shows on both sides. Some of the plates could be used daily. My question is about the "old Paris" porcelain. A lot of people use "old Paris" name but don't back it up with much if any information in their descriptions. These plates are stamped in brown zig zags border with G.B. Brevete (SLD6 or something like that in lower case) and Paris. There is another stamp, brick red color, that reads A. Genella Vicksburg Miss ( importing Co. Maybe). In my search I found mostly porcelain figurines marked Brevete but no additional information. The other mark had just taken me to Vicksburg as the city with information about it. I think that maybe the plates were imported to the USA and painted here?
So, I would like to find out if to keep them, use them on daily basis, or try to preserve their shape? What is the story behind these plates makers. It is still a nice quality porcelain even with its imperfections.
