Does anyone know what kind of drill press this is and who it was made by? I think it might be from the 1920s. I was thinking of selling it, but I just like it too much. I think it's a work of art. It's not really that big, but it's pretty heavy. I'd say around 60-70lbs!

Wow, I thought at first it was a Steam Punk piece of art. The cones are too good to be true and certainly is art at its finest !~
I use to work for Clausing Industrial which made drill press and band saws even back at this time but not sure. They are a solid state design and many for from the early years still work just need care. Great piece.

Did you ever find an answer? We have one just like it! It was apparently manufactured by my wife's grandfather.
It's called a "sensitive drill press". Jewellers, clock makers and Model Engineers used them to drill small accurately placed holes. The old Model Engineer magazines (from the UK) used to regularly show readers drills they had built at home and plans to make them.
