I fell in love with this pair of vases the moment I saw them. The beautiful enamel work of a single-petaled peony on each vase, in a mirrored pair, was just so beautifully done. The flowers and leaves are accented with gold, and the entire surface of each vase has a beautiful iridescent sheen to it. At first look, they appeared to me to have been made by Baccarat; however, this shape, and the iridescent surface of the vases, I have only ever seen in pieces made by St. Louis. Additionally, the vases are also signed on the bottom! They are heavy for their size, as is typical of this type of French opaline glass; they measure 8" (20.3cm) tall.
They are beautiful, Michelle, with fine enameling and a look of sheer opulence!
