I have a boatload of Westmoreland Glass milk glass pieces but not the candle holder or this small vase. I have a set of the tall tumblers and goblets, to go with my medium and tall pitchers, but not the short tumblers. I actually stopped collecting Westmoreland several years ago due to lack of space, but these are such nice examples, from molds with very little wear, and I am a sucker for the paneled grape pattern... All the details are sharp and the Westmoreland logo on the bottoms is extremely well defined. There were several other pieces at the thrift shop, that I already have so passed on them. I think I paid about $4.50 for these after my veterans discount. Not giving dimensions since these are well known pieces.

I've run into this question before. Where is this Westmoreland glass from ? There is Westmorland, UK, Westmoreland, UK etc. Of course, since the new owners of CW don't seem interested in fixing the CW issues, I will probably never hear the answer!

Westmoreland Glass was an American glass maker. They ceased operations back in the mid 1980s. They were located in Grapeville, PA.

I think it was about 1952 when Westmoreland started using the mark in the glass shown in my images instead of just a paper label. After 1952 they sometimes used both. Some pieces were made before and after 1952 so can appear marked and unmarked. As the molds got older, details became less precise and the "WG" mark could become faint or gone altogether. There is a web site for Westmoreland collectors and there is a lot of information there:

My family was a Westmoreland and Fenton glass and Wagner cast iron family, so I inherited some of both that has been in the family for several generations.

Westmoreland went out of business in 1984. They made beautiful glass.

Thanks for the comment Newfld! Paneled Grape is my favorite pattern from Westmoreland. I was watching some old Ozzie and Harriet episodes and they had Westmoreland glass pieces in some of the shots.

Yes, I noticed that as well. I believe they had some unusual pieces on their fireplace mantle. I also remember seeing some milk glass hens.

Good eye, TimeTraveller. Harriett also had some shelves in the dining room that were loaded with milk glass.
