Small collection of vintage czechoslovak glass brooches I bought online. They are made in the bold , colorful "Brusel" style, popular in Czechoslovakia in the late 1950s, 1960s and 1970. Brusel style fashion started with the 1958 Expo in Brussel, where Czechoslovakia won several awards ( for example for the architecture or for the bohemian garnets jewelry).
Such brooches are still commonly found in todays Czech republic and Slovakia, hence their price is not high. I like this style...so bold, so unusual... but would not dare to wear it!
They're gorgeous !! I want some for my collection. Thanks for sharing ! :)
I was hoping to find some here in the U.S.A. The shipping cost from overseas, would probably be very costly. I'll keep my eye out for them and thank you. :)
Glad to help!
Why not wear them? I don't understand?
The reddish one with the clear navette is beautiful!
Ms.CrystalShip, thank you!
Its not my style. Also, I rarely wear brooches - I prefer earrings, bracelets and necklaces.
These are so wonderful! I would pin them on a vintage bark cloth tote or purse or my floppy swapmeet hat. I LOVE these, and thank you for the research because I think I have a few like this and didn't know anything about them. Great colors and shapes :-)
Thank you, valentino97, and glad you like them!
Now, that is some idea, they would look great on a hat!
Bee-u-tee-ful!!
Thank you for your love!
These are so pretty!
Thank you!
