Currently I'm in the U.K. staying with family and for once the weather as been absolutely beautiful. I decided to take a walk and go to the market, which is a good old fashion market town. I came across this brooch while I was browsing the stalls, for some reason I was attracted towards this brooch, as people who follow my posting know I'm trying to keep away from brooches but I love the colours which are lovely summer colours, so I took the plunge and bought it.
There are no markings, I tested the metal which I believe to be high grade silver. There is damage which you can see from the back and very slight nibbling at the front consummate with the age plus it's quite heavy at 8 grams. I would love to know if anybody would have an idea of the maker, also is the design a flower or insect or anything else. I think it could be either Victorian or Edwardian.
Many thanks for looking

Pretty-it reminds me of a dragonfly flying :)
It's beautiful up on Aidan's wall, I love the the North East
Yes Mrstyndall, I also thought of a dragonfly:-)))
Gorgeous !!!
I dont' know who the maker is but that's a little arts & craftsy one. It's an unusual colorway, but I occasionally see little blue/green enamel pendants with this elongated triangular drop.
Thank you Kevin :-))
Hi Jewels1900, I suppose the colour is what drew me towards it, it is rather unusual as you say. I've been looking online but haven't seen anything remotely like this brooch, but will keep looking as it as got my interest. Thanks for passing by, I hope all is well with you and your family.
Hi Jean, it is very lovely:-)
I really appreciate your comment Judy, I've been looking online but haven't found anything with the same shape and enamel colouring. As Jewels1900 says there are pendants with the enamel drops but I've seen nothing in brooches. It could have been converted into a brooch.

Thank you for the link Jewels1900, I have seen quite a few pendants with similar enamel drops but not brooches. I have also been looking at enamel jewellery as I'm interested in the colour on this brooch and I haven't come across the same colour combination.
Beautiful colors!
Hi Tigra, thank you for your comment, I think the colours drew me to this brooch.

Similar in style, also enamelled on the reversed.
