Band steamer trunk

Hi,I recently purchased this beautiful band/bentwood steamer trunk at my local thrift store for only three dollars it is in excellent condition retains its original tray and is super clean interior with no orders whitch is rare has its original handles I do believe the paint has been touched up over the years but most of it is original I'm unsure of its age,if it's late 1800s or 1930-1940's this trunk measures approximately 30 inches wide by 12 inches tall also I would like to add legs to the bottom so it can be at coffee table height but don't want to take away from it value I also don't see any Manufacture name/marks so unsure of who the maker of this truck maybe. any info you may have about this trunk would
