Any ideas if this is a table runner, some kind of rug, or something else? It is 45"L X 16 1/2"W (not counting the fringe on each end which is 4" long). Looks like ducks on border. Last picture is a picture of the back. Age? Culture? As always, any help would be very much appreciated!

Pretty colors, looks Native American, the ducks border is cute

Depends on how heavy/thick the weaving is. If it's thick, it was probably intended as a rug. Otherwise it's just a textile that can be used for a number of purposes, such as a wall hanging, table cloth, etc.

But the weaving technique eliminates the possibility of it being Native American (which would mean Navajo, since they are the only U.S. tribe that weaves). It appears to be from Guatemala, or possibly Peru, based on the way it is woven and the distinctive bird design.

Thanks so much for the input! I have found out it is a Guatemalan/Mayan table runner. CanyonRoad, you get the gold star!
