These blown "ART GLASS" and brass lamps have been in my family for many, many years. I used to stare at them going to sleep when I visited my Great Auntie in Glendale for sleepovers... some 50 years ago. They were OLD back then!

The glass is solid and heavy, and is a "paperweight" style of blown glass. Because I loved them, they came to me when Auntie died. I took them apart and polished, rewired and added new shades and have been using them ever since. The brass is solid, and polishes nicely, but desperately needs to be polished again. You can see a bright spot on the lower brass section where I "spot" polished today. It takes a lot of work... I think I can put my Dremmel to work here!

There are no markings, or indications of where or when these lamps were made and I have always been curious to find out more about them.

I'm hoping someone out there can tell me about my treasured lamps?

At the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum in Neenah, Wisconsin, I saw similar lilies in paperweights circa 1946-47. They called the middle of the lilies "'ice-pick' bubble centers." I say similar because the paperweights also included spatters of bubbles. The museum pieces were made by the G-F Glass Co of WV. There were other similar paperweights, 1930-1950, by someone named Edward Rithner. And there were others. I have recently purchased a set of lamps similar to these that have a yellow tulip inside of the crystal with green leaves. I would love to know something about these lamps, all I know is I fell in love with them from the first time I seen them. Is there a collector or dealer that would know somehting?

Found out these are St Clair paperweight glass lamps. Made in the USA and are worth several hundred dollars a piece.

Hey Vicki! Thanks so much for the info. I did a search for St Clair lamps and sure enough, found a pair for sale that are obviously VERY close family to my lamps. I had searched for everything I could think of and come up empty ... timing is definitely everything. Enjoy your lamps... I love mine! They are in my bedroom and are used every single night. :)
