This is my Kingery Co. steam engine used to power a turn of the century street vendor's wagon. I won't bore you with a repeat of the use of these engines because I talked too much already on my previous popcorn steam engine by Cretors.
I will tell you how I found this engine and what I done to bring it back to a useful life.
I bought this engine from a fellow engine collector a few weeks ago. It was completely covered with a grass green paint (why would anybody paint over a nickel plated engine?), anyway, I carefully removed the paint as to not scratch the nickel plating underneath. I replace the skinny flywheel with one of proper proportions. I added a leather belt to the flyball governor and made it functional. I added a steam whistle and a proper steam gauge. The base is not original and there is isn't one that I own to replace it, so I fabricated an oak base to nest the existing base into.
The engine runs beautiful and slow (as I like them to) on approx. 4 PSI. of air.
I would like to try running it on steam, as they say they run so much sweeter on steam, but, until I find a suitable displacement oiler, that will have to wait.
