Here are some images of three of the six styles of cobalt vases that I have identified by this maker. The shorter is about 5" high and 4.5" wide. The middle size vase is 6" high x 3" wide. The tallest vase is 8" high and about 2.5" wide. The bottom chamber of the tallest vase is lighter blue, probably due to stretching of the glass.
I am fairly certain these vases are by the same maker though there are some similarities and differences between them.
Similarities: Cobalt glass, blown into a two part mold, USA on the bottom in the same font, mold number on bottom.
Differences: Bottom finish varies between different styles of vase, periods separate USA on some vases, shade of cobalt varies.
After a few years of research, no maker has been identified for these vases. I tentatively date them to the 1930s, but that is a guess.

I've really been shaking the trees for the other shapes lately and, of course, not seen even any of the styles I already have. Par for the course. I know they are out there because I see them on ebay, etsy, etc. At least my life has purpose!
Update: So far, I have found images of six, perhaps seven, styles of this vase in cobalt. They are quite scarce with only a dozen, or so at most, total, of all styles found on ebay at any moment in time. Very rare to find one "in the wild" in my thrift shop travels. I found only one example in amber of any of these vases, the "beehive" vase shown above, and only an image of it. No examples in any other color. One ebay seller estimates them to be 1930s-1940s production and I agree. Still no clue as to the maker.
After reviewing my notes, I realized that I have actually found ten different styles of cobalt vases by this mystery maker, all with the similar USA mark and a number on the bottom.
Kwqd, The hive looking one is great my g collects cobalt glass and beehive vases so it's right in her wheelhouse. Lol
@Pickaboo - This maker made at least four versions of beehive vases. Maybe she knows who made these!

Hi Kwgd, She is thinking Maryland glass co. They also did the iconic bromoseltzer cobalt blue bottles. Just a guess

I have the exact blue beehive vase, marked usa...been meaning to look it up. I have the top or a top, not sure it's a set.

All three marks are shown in the link above. Anchor Hocking never used a USA mark. They did occasionally use labels in addition to marking the glass for select lines.
The only company known to have made cobalt glass and to also use a "USA" mark was the Maryland Glass Corp., but there in no mention of that company making vases in any documentation.
The maker of these vases remains unknown.

After work today I found the pattern name for a copeland spode wash basin, its " mandarin". +-1890 beautiful, I posted it. Spent some time on this.
Kwqd .. I came across this post while researching my vases. I have two of the shortrr, fatter ones. And the USA 1 matches yours, and the other one I have is USA 4 and it matches your mark from the taller one, but it's the shorter hive vase! And the ones I see on eBay, rubylane or Etsy either don't have a number, but have USA. And others that have nothing. So, this makes me think the ones I have are harder to come by for sure!
Hi BrandiT. Thanks for your comments. The numbers are probably just mold numbers used to track wear to the molds. They would not influence the value or collectability of the vases unless someone was trying to collect a set of every mold number and even then, that would only be of more interest to that collector from a collectability perspective. It would be interesting to track the mold numbers and see how many different ones there were. There is no telling, at this point, when in the production of these vases when marked versus unmarked vases were made. I have seen many examples of all of these vases but never tried to track the mold numbers.
Hello!. Just came across this conversation when looking for information on a cobalt glass vase marked USA a recent acquisition. Mine is about 10 in tall. I noticed the same one is currently listed on eBay. Just FYI. Not sure how or if I can attach photo of my vase but at a minimum I will draw attention to the eBay listing.
There are at least 3 different USA vases on ebay right now.
