The picture in this post is an excerpt from a scan of a brochure sent to me by the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I quote here from Rosenthal's website:

"Karl Scheid is one of the great German ceramists. In 1956 he opened his own design studio, three years later his wife Ursula Scheid joins the cooperation: a joined venture where two artists create pieces of art under one name. The Scheid ceramics owe their secret to the art of variation and differentiation, that always integrate into the complete works. The Scheids have been working for Rosenthal since 1979."

I thought this was interesting, check out this bottle opener:

It look like the same fish design! :^)

At first I thought you'd inadvertently left the "fish design" comment on this post, but then I noticed that you'd also left it on ho2cultcha's Rosenthal Midcentury Vase post, so it seems deliberate.

I have to say that I hadn't thought of this particular Scheid design as representing fish. In fact, I hadn't thought of this particular Scheid design as representing anything in particular. Maybe I have defective imagination. };-)

ho2cultcha, And I only just now saw this. A consequence of the CW S/W not quite working the way it was intended, I suspect.

I probably should have beefed up the description, because the whole purpose of this post was to help you solve the mystery of your Rosenthal pottery vase:

I got the brochure in support of something I was trying to identify, and it didn't help me with my piece, but I noticed it had your vase.

So I think you can finally mark that one post of yours as a solved mystery. :-)

      Brunswick, S'up, bro?

It looks like you're going around commenting on various CW users' seventh post?

Technically, this one is my seventh surviving post. My first post is gone. I took it down once I submitted it to Barneby's for appraisal.

With regard to that, I just noticed that they've recently changed the info at the appraisal link:
