This little sweater chain has the words "patent pend" (pending) on the clips. It is used to hold a cardigan sweater together.

I see the patent pending mark on the one clip. What does the other one say?
I zoomed in to try to read the mark and spotted some VERDIGRIS...
Bad stuff, use some kind of polish to remove it, I use "Brasso". This stuff
eventually "eats up" the finish on jewelry!!
Eileen, yes, I noticed that verdigris too! Thanks for the tip to use Brasso. I am new to that issue, and in fact I noticed it on an old piece I bought about two months ago-- I better take care of it!
