Rare figural pottery sculpted by Axel Jensen for the Danish pottery firm, Ipsen's Enke. Circa 1910s. This dish rendered in the orange/yellow interior and metallic brown glazes typical of Ipsen's Enke from this period features, what I suspect, is a creature from Scandinavian folklore. The piece is marked underneath with the Ipsen's P.I.E. mark with crown and the form number "XVI, 132." Dimensions: H 4.34 in. x Dm 8.27 in. (H 11 cm x Dm 21 cm).
