This vase is not marked except for STERLING, it is a known Duncan and Miller line vase, with several types of silver application motifs, measures 9 inches by 5 inches.

Silver overlay on ceramic is another one of my favorite collectibles, Carl Goldberg's Bohemian Art Glass was the first glass with silver overlay decor in my glass collection.

The Japanese produced a lot of mixed metal decorative items, some of them on ceramic, and that was another collection during early 1900s.

This is a really nice piece! :^D The rocket design reminds me of the cocktail shakers, that were made in the 1940-50s. Thanks for posting! :^)

Thanks Bill, I like this design too, it's a great time capsule of the military innovations of the 40s right to the space age program. :-)

The silver decoration is actually called "silver deposit" not "silver overlay". It is Duncan-Miller Line #12 aka "rocket". The glass color is "ebony" which was first introduced by Duncan-Miller in 1931 and produced until around 1940.
