i got this at Goodwill today - near my house. i was very surprised to realize that this is very high quality alabaster and carved beautifully! it's extremely heavy! it's only 12 inches tall, but weighs something like 30-40 lbs! i'd love to find out all i can about this piece. there is some damage but it isn't visible from this point of view and i think it could be fixed pretty easily.

It is Apollo, the son of Zeus and the God of music, poetry, prophecy and many more.
thank you mp.kunst. it's Apollo Belvedere which was a Greek statue which had a huge impact on sculpture from the Renaissance till the late 19th century - because of how it was both a side profile and a front-faced bust at the same time - considered 'genius' for at least 500 years.
