Found this piece of (possibly) carnival glass acorn at an estate sale, can somone help me identify it or have any other infomation on this? The pictures do not do it justice, its absolutely beautiful. Its also quite heavy and maybe was used as a paperweight I'm guessing? It measures a little over 4 inches long. I havent seen anything like this, any info much appreciated!

      Christmas tree ornament??

OZMARTY may be right – I have seen Christmas ornaments like this one. But this is REALLY HEAVY; reconsider other possible uses; It has a loop at the top – it could be a handle to attach to long decorative fabric for servants bells (before electrical bells), or decorative item for the curtains when folded, with bands on both sides.
The weight is important – if it is really heavy, it is not very probable they could have been used for Christmas trees at home, the branch would have bent to the ground. How heavy is it in fact?
By the way - paparweight is excluded (the loop at the top and unstable surface make no sense for this purpose - it would roll all over the table)

Could it be the center decoration hanging from the bottom of a chandelier? Weight wouldn't be an issue.
      Just guessing.
It is pretty, and I would use it as a paperweight by setting it on top of a wooden ring, to keep it put!
