I had some time to kill today and joined a wonderful green swirl ribbon bakelite clip with a 1940's gold watchband (marked Sturdy 14kt gold filled) Here is the original bakelite clip post from a few months ago:

It is not a perfect upcycle but gives me idea how to do it with proper gold wire - the tension of the watch band holds so okay for now.
And another lovely green picture from Driftless Wisconson near Richland Center last month :-)

Great pairing, and love the greenery, top post !~
They make a great set Mary, that ribbon clip looks beautiful with the gold band. Pretty pastoral Wisconsin photo too
How clever, though I'm not surprised seeing your hand-made bracelets, which I adore by the way. Good going Mary!
We could use some of that green here in California...17 wildfires burning
Need to start the rain chant!!
Thank you Phil - I love the swirly green bakelite and it does pair nicely with the greens of Wisconsin driftless region...
Jenni - thank you - plan to secure it better, but okay for now and yes, what a scene :-)
Eileen - thank you for loving my upcycles....what would a downcycle be? LOL. I agree - look at that Wisconsin Green!!! I don't have AC and it takes all night to cool down. Still, why complain? There are no fires or earthquakes here in the LBC. I agree, let's start the rain chant.....oh....dear California....if you want me to keep paying this freaking high rent....then give me (ooops and our beloved California) a break, please rain and cool us off.....thank you for not having an earthquake.....oh...dear California...
Very cool look my #1 Mary! :^D A great idea for that Bakelite Clip and Gold Band, can't wait to see the finished Bracelet, and the rest of the line that you'll be coming out with, next Spring! B^o LOL
The Wisconsin landscape looks a lot like "anywhere California" in the Spring, too bad we're on FIRE now, the Complex Fire in Lake County is about 300 thousand acres now, and the combination with the Carr Fire in the Shasta Area, and Fergeson Fire, by Yosemite, is covering the whole State in smoke! Come On Rain! ! !
Here's the link to your Clip post(easier to get to), the green in it shows up better:

Thank you for posting #1 Mary! :^)
That is brilliant my friend!!! Brilliant!
Record highs here also, supposed to be 38 or so today. Try to keep cool.
Hi Bill - I got very busy with work promotions these last 10 days and didn't check my posts. Thanks as always for your comments. Yes, very aware of California fires, so heart-breaking. Some of my friends had to evacuate. I can't honestly complain, because it is cooler here. I have 1 ceiling fan, a floor and window fan in my bedroom just to cool down? must get to work!! or the AC in the car! LOL Thanks, I thought this was a nice upcycle project.
Dear Share - thank you for your comment!
Phil - thank you too - WOW, 38C is not what I'm dealing with here in LBC, but it has been that hot away from ocean breezes just 20 miles away. I don't even think I should complain because we are all dealing with higher temperatures. I love to cook but now I am using small electric cooker gadgets XOXO
