Okay, I actually already have one of these, with a lid...but how could I turn down this one found in an op shop for a paltry sum?
It is made from a single layer of opaque ivory glass, which contains uranium & glows bright green under UV light. The jar measures 11.5 cm tall, & features an applied acanthus leaf in clear & pink glass, & stands on three applied clear leaf - shaped feet.
As can be seen, it is missing its lid.
In the Victorian language of flowers, the acanthus represents "the arts". It was a particularly popular motif on art glass, & entirely appropriate!
