I’ve exhausted all my collector books & can’t find this one (I thought it would be a simple find!) Do YOU know? It’s 20” height, bottom diameter 10” ... blue green glaze VERY striking. Cool to see the vertical finger marks in the clay on the inside. It’s open all the way through (a little odd?) Hope someone has a catalog or collector book I.D. - would be great to know! THANKS!
Unglazed interior, interior looks like no attempt was made to finish the clay and open body = a large lamp base missing the hardware?
Yes I wondered about that. Agree! Can’t be an umbrella, sand jar or oil! LOL. Fulper/ Stangl made lamps but wow, this would be a big one! Thanks for your feedback!
No notch for the cord? Other possibilities: it had a big insert for the sand? or it’s a pedestal for a jardiniere IF the jardiniere was fashioned to fit within? All sort of weird! An unusual piece, huh?! Thanks again.
I think it might be the bottom part of a bird bath now that I remember cleaning mud off the bottom when I bought it. Zanesville Pottery maybe?!
