    i found this near my house the other day and really love it - a blue faience owl. unsigned. is the red clay Mexican or is this a European piece - Italian, maybe? i hope it's Mexican!

      The clay doesn't look like it has aged. I have some older Mexican red clay items and it looks totally different. But my items are quite vintage and not antique. Could be this is just a new piece.

      and yes fhrfr2, it could be a newer piece. also, mexican clay can look just like this - there is a lot of variety. i have a lot of older Mexican pieces too.

      ho2cultcha I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't Mexican, only that it is probably more recent and not aged well yet. Very well could be Mexican.
