This belongs to my mother in law, she bought it in an antique shop in Kentucky years ago, we are trying to find out its origin and value.
Does anyone out there know if this is something special?

I have one that is very similar in style and appearance....my grandmother purchased it for $578.00 in 1983 and according to her journal it has tripled in value since, though I have yet to find anything concrete to substantiate this, and she is no longer with us. So I do know that it is Chinese in origin and was made in Shanghai. If you'd like to see pics of mine let me know, I'd be happy to share them with you! Good Luck!!!!
