This vintage 2" round silver brooch has the image of a matador next to a bull, with background of iridescent green, purple & blue abalone . The mark has some fading , you can make out the 925, Mexico, Tax, ACC designer initials and separate Eagle 3 mark.

Really cool piece- reminds me of Bizet's Toreador song from Carmen- I can just hear it now looking at this!
Thanks Lauren that's a really good image, Bizet's Carmen was so colorful with great songs & dancing! I think you must know by now that, like you, I love animals and of course do not endorse the sport of bullfighting if they are still killing bulls, culturally I know it has the romantic machismo (Hemingway etc), but I think there could be something more humane like a tranquilizer gun or needle so the bull can live to fight another day. I do like these Mexican silver brooches though esp with the colors of the abalone. Thanks for your nice compliment

Thanks Phil, I too think it's a pretty cool scene, just a simple image not too graphic - as I said before I love the romantic elegance of the sport not the violence, but when this brooch was made (probably 50s-60s) it was very au courant. Appreciate your kind words
