    hello,
    I recently acquired this item at a sale and I would like to know its age and any information anyone might have. I thought it might be Georgian but I am not sure. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

      How about a Reliquary
      A reliquary (also referred to as a shrine or by the French term châsse) is a container for relics. These may be the physical remains of saints, (sinners?).
      This doesn't look religious, it lacks the precious metals.
      But something is on display and it looks 'organic'.
      Nice piece of treen, though.
