I was headed out on a rainy day to find something to do...no lawn mowing with 4.9 inches of rain!
I got a call from someone who had heard I was a collector of local items,they had a few items to show me!
I ended up getting a civil war infantry history book (1893) which was owned and documented inside the front cover by a local man who fought in this group in the civil war!His brother served in the same group and was killed in the battle of Chickamounga (sp)
Apparently he went to the reunion and put the ribbon in the book for safe keeping.
I have a little more research to do and will post more when I find it.

Here you go (pasted from the HDS site):
James Jellison
Residence Montpelier IN;
Enlisted on 8/1/1862 as a Private.
On 8/1/1862 he mustered into "E" Co. IN 75th Infantry
He died of wounds on 9/23/1863
He was listed as:
* Wounded 9/19/1863 Chickamauga, GA
And the brother:
John Jellison
Residence Montpelier IN;
Enlisted on 8/1/1862 as a Private.
On 8/1/1862 he mustered into "E" Co. IN 75th Infantry
He was Mustered Out on 6/8/1865 at Washington, DC
The two brothers illustrate a sad story that happened with some regularity during the War-- brothers serve in the same unit and witness the loss of the other (s).
It was probably a very trying time for John as James lived for about four days after being wounded.
