1960's Hippie Peace Turtle Protest Helmet

A truly unique design. Circa 1960's Hippie Peace Turtle Protest steel Helmet Named after the seller's wife exclaimed it looks like s turtle... which may have been the intent. Peace was coming too slowly for the activists. Appears to be a WWII helmet repurposed to fight the domestic war against the war. The seller bought this at an auction in North Vernon Indiana. He thought it may have been used in Nam but the helmet seems wrong for the period. Best hippie era helmet I have, love this.
